Digital banking access for a microfinance bank with no digital channel
AstraPolaris Microfinance Bank had no customer-facing digital channel. Every transaction including basic withdrawals required a customer to physically visit a branch. For a modern microfinance bank competing for customers who expect mobile-first banking, this was a structural limitation on growth, not just an inconvenience.
MVP - Monolithic Architecture
Built the first version of AstraPay: a customer-facing app for transfers and account access without a branch visit. Java backend, Xamarin mobile, Vue.js web a monolith built for speed to market.
Rebuilt for Scale, Team Trained to Own It
Recruited and rigorously trained six interns into a capable engineering team, then moved into a consulting/supervisory role as they rebuilt AstraPay on a multi-service architecture C#, Java, and Node/Express, each engineer working in their strongest language adding POS integration for agency banking.

AstraPay gave AstraPolaris customers the ability to bank without visiting a branch. Savings, transfers, and loan-related agency banking, all self-service, backed by a proper microservices architecture. Just as importantly, Yatice's engagement didn't end at code delivery: the internal team we trained took full ownership of the platform going forward.
AstraPolaris later exited the market for reasons unrelated to the platform's technical performance - a reminder that good architecture and a capable team outlast any single business's fate.
